This beautiful 3-Bedroom Penthouse takes place in the GREENPOINT Condominium building, designed by Lubrano Ciavarra Architects, 2018 AIA BQDA Merit Award winners for the project.
This 1,520SF spacious home has a layout cleverly divided. The main coming-in area is the public part of the house with a living room and a kitchen with dining. From this area there is immediate access to the terrace, while the private zone is on another side of the axes.
The night zone consists of the master bedroom and two rooms, bathroom, and a terrace that runs along the side of the apartment.
The main feature of this space is its relationship between forms and materials, colors and patterns used. Due to the adequate distribution of its elements, a visual composition is created that can be appreciated from different sides. At the same time, it conserves symbiosis and harmony about its elements, characterized by the contrast of warm and dark colors.
The intimate area of the project is characterized by the dominant use of warm tones, optimizing the lighting in the space and at the same time creating a comfortable atmosphere.
The playfulness of the lines present in the finishes and furniture gives visual continuity to the project, in addition to subtle textures.
In this way, GREENPOINT PENTHOUSE is conceived as an interesting project in terms of interior design and distribution, where its elements are related both in functionality and aesthetics, providing identity and character, a perfect fusion of contemporary art, chromatic work and elegance.
THE LIVING ROOM features a modern furniture selection of Roche Bobois Profile “Large 4-seat Sofa“ upholstered in “Cabaret Blue Velvet and Pouf”, a pair of mid-century modern armchairs suite in “Off White Linen” with ash framework. The pillows are made of “Paul Smith” Maharam bespoke fabric, while “Eliseo” round coffee table is hand-hewn and designed by the STUDIO and custom made of reclaimed wood beams.
To be more impressive and closer to modern style, we designed and handcrafted “Maremma“ book storage long wall as a perfect book and object storage space. It has “grilled” panels, each of them made of walnut solid wood which can be moved and shifted anytime depending on need. The frame is made of oak in matt lead finish while for the interior paneling of the cabinet two shades of sim gray-blue vegan leather are used.
The kitchen is designed and custom made from a singular volume of stained oak “Brookside Cabinetry” with a sliding paneling system, occupied by Wedgewood England dinnerware plates in white and glasses. Backsplash and c top are made of Arabescato Carrara marble stone while cabinet hardware material is in steel matte black finish.
“Dining Table Harth” comes from one-piece custom made 12-foot- long black honed granite stone with wine storage and drawers designed underneath by the STUDIO. Lighting used for the dining table helps to achieve adequate lightning during evening and night time. A custom-made built-in bench “Arielle” is by the window w/Textile Anakreon ca. 1938 designed by the legendary designer Josef Frank.
The client selected with the STUDIO all the objects in the house from his private art collection which forms a vast collection of modernists, contemporary and neo expressionism artists such: Chuck Close, Jim Dine, Louis Le Brocquy, Colin Middleton, Huang Yan, Milomir Romanovic.
As for the sculptures, there are also several contemporary artists such Dustin Yellin, Zoë Buckman. Also, artists like Claire Finlay, Grainne Watts, Ann-Marie Robinson come from West Ireland. One-of-a-kind ceramics is locally hand made by the talented Jessica Capone.
THE NIGHT ZONE is located on the other side of the hallway, where it has the widest and most beautiful view in the morning over the Manhattan skyline. The bedrooms are surrounded by supporting spaces such as dressing rooms, and a bathroom, with a long balcony with a little terrace garden designed in the STUDIO.
THE MASTER BEDROOM is made in modern style by creative interpretation of custom all set of elements, walnut solid wood and vegan blue leather for credenza. Items include “Somnia” master bed combo, along with side tables using the multicolored rich textured fabric as headboard upholstery made in STUDIO. The central chest of drawers is made of the same material as the side tables, with 2 drawers and 1 secret drawer. It is designed to be operable only under certain circumstances. This room has soft wool carpet flooring from wall to wall.
Outer space-inspired KIDS ROOM has décor elements furnished by talented designer Lorena Canalis. The walnut book storage “Tresori” is custom made in STUDIO, and art is by Zhang Xiaogang is a contemporary Chinese symbolist and surrealist painter.
